A major funding scheme has officially opened to provide substantial financial support to charities that assist young people in securing employment. The Persimmon Charitable Foundation is offering a total fund of £150,000, to be distributed among successful applicants. Three registered charities across the country will each receive a significant donation of £50,000 to enhance their local projects.
Applications for the nationwide programme opened on Monday, June 1, 2026. The funding is specifically designed to support UK-based projects focused on improving employability for children and young people aged 14 to 25. Organisers are particularly interested in helping organisations working within areas of economic and social deprivation.
The open application programme originally launched in 2025 to give more local causes the opportunity to access vital resources. Several organisations benefited from the previous funding round in May, including the Hamara Healthy Living Centre in Leeds, the Newcastle United Foundation, and The Benjamin Foundation in Norfolk.
Anthony Vigor, from the foundation, said: “We want to improve outcomes for young people, and particularly those not in education, training or employment. If your charity is focused on supporting employability, we encourage you to apply.”
Hopeful organisations have just a few weeks left to submit their details before the scheme closes. The strict deadline for all digital applications is 11.59pm on Sunday, June 21, 2026. The names of the successful charities will be officially announced to the public in September. People can find out more details about the criteria or submit an application by visiting the official website.
