50 New Jobs Created in North Tyneside as Global Insurer AND-E Expands
50 new jobs created in North Tyneside by insurer AND-E

A major international insurer is creating dozens of new roles in North Tyneside as part of a significant expansion of its UK operations. Aioi Nissay Dowa Europe (AND-E) has launched a recruitment drive for 50 new starters at its base on Quorum Business Park in Longbenton.

Expanding the Newcastle Centre of Excellence

The motor insurance specialist, which supports brands including Toyota, Lexus, and Kwik Fit, is bringing its motor fleet claims handling fully in-house. This strategic move is set to double the number of claims managed by its Newcastle Claims Centre of Excellence by the end of this year. The company expects its claims team headcount to grow by approximately 30% by the close of 2026.

AND-E, a division of Asia's largest insurer, MS&AD Insurance Group Holdings Inc., has been operating at Quorum for over 15 years. It first established itself under the Insurethebox brand, a pioneer in telematics insurance, before becoming part of the wider AND-E Group. The business currently employs 351 staff at its North Tyneside hub, with a further 200 based in Surrey.

Investment in Technology and Skills

The expansion follows a significant investment last year to develop in-house fleet claims handling capabilities. Greg Cole, UK Claims Director at AND-E, highlighted the opportunities for local talent. "As an award-winning employer with a clear focus on personal development, we offer great prospects for people in Newcastle and the surrounding area," he said.

Mr Cole explained that the new roles are diverse, handling claims for a wide range of organisations from emergency services and charities to hospital trusts and construction firms. Colleagues will also work with advanced technology, including AI-driven solutions developed with Oxford University spin-off Mind Foundry, to improve fraud detection and claims efficiency.

The company has also established an 'Excellence Framework', a dedicated development programme designed to help claims staff build the skills needed to excel and grow their careers. "AND-E is setting the standard for best-in-class claims handling, and we’re looking for people who want to be part of that story," Mr Cole added, emphasising the creation of rewarding careers in a technology-led industry.
