Arrogant drug dealer hid cocaine in Kinder egg in underwear jailed
Arrogant drug dealer with Kinder egg cocaine jailed for 5 years

An 'arrogant' drug dealer who spent his ill-gotten gains on holidays and cosmetic surgery in Turkey has been jailed. Christopher Dixon, who was unemployed and claiming benefits, supplied cocaine across south Derbyshire, Staffordshire and Leicestershire.

How the investigation began

Dixon's criminal activities started to unravel when police stopped his vehicle on January 29, 2024, in Marley Way, Drakelow. Inside the car, officers found a large number of halved plastic Kinder egg holders, suspected to be used for concealing drugs. Dixon also had a significant amount of cash on him.

After his arrest, he was taken to St Mary's Wharf Police Station, where a Kinder egg containing nine wraps of cocaine was discovered hidden in his underwear.

Home search reveals more evidence

A search of his home in Chatham Drive, Drakelow, uncovered thousands of pounds stashed under a mattress and a mobile phone containing messages related to drug dealing. Derbyshire Constabulary obtained a production order to examine the financial records of Dixon and an associate, revealing that around £300,000 had passed through their accounts despite neither having a job and both claiming benefits.

Dixon was released on bail as the investigation continued, but he persisted in dealing drugs. In January 2025, officers raided a storage unit in Swadlincote linked to Dixon, where they found cocaine with a street value of £12,000 concealed in a lock box. A large zombie knife and a zombie machete were also discovered in the unit.

Arrest and sentencing

Dixon went on the run, but police traced him to a hotel in Lichfield and arrested him again. He was charged with two counts of possession with intent to supply class A drugs and two counts of possessing an offensive weapon in a private place. The 40-year-old pleaded guilty to all charges and was jailed for five years at Derby Crown Court on April 24.

Following the sentencing, Pc Alexander Boniface from Derbyshire Police said: 'Dixon operated his criminal enterprise through fear and arrogance, believing he was untouchable by police. He overtly showed off by driving expensive vehicles to conduct his drug dealing, spending large amounts of money on holidays and cosmetic procedures in Turkey, all whilst claiming benefits with no legitimate employment.'

He added: 'Officers from the Safer Neighbourhood Team worked with colleagues in other departments and with the community to build our case against Dixon, which led to a successful prosecution. In the end, Dixon's arrogance was his downfall, and we are all pleased that he has been put behind bars for a considerable amount of time. This should serve as a warning to other drug dealers that the law will always catch up with you in the end.'
