Delivery giant Yodel has reportedly announced job cuts, leaving hard-working lorry drivers devastated. The company told workers it was with regret that around 60 LGV1 roles would be eliminated across two sites.
Staff at the Wednesbury site in the West Midlands and the Hatfield site in Hertfordshire are affected. Union representatives from GMB stated that the roles were axed as part of Yodel's plan to transition to a locker-first service.

Nicola Savage, GMB national officer, said: Cutting these jobs is both cruel and short-sighted. Our hard-working, dedicated members are devastated. Agency usage is at a high in Yodel, whilst loyal employed workers face the axe.
BirminghamLive has contacted Yodel for comment. Last year, parcel locker firm InPost acquired 95.5% of Yodel's parent company in a £106m deal.
