Households are being informed about financial boosts available from energy suppliers, with experts highlighting offers from major providers like British Gas. This comes at a crucial time following the announcement that energy bills will increase by £221 per year for the typical household from July under the new Energy Price Cap.
British Gas Gift Card Offer
British Gas is offering a £50 gift card for new and existing customers who switch both gas and electricity to a dual fixed tariff. Existing customers can also receive a £25 gift card when switching either electricity or gas from a standard variable single fuel tariff to a fixed tariff. These offers are available via the British Gas app until the end of May.
Other Supplier Offers
Scottish Power is providing Blue Light Card members with a £42.50 Amazon gift card for switching a single fuel tariff, or an £85 Amazon gift card for switching both gas and electricity through a dual fuel tariff. Meanwhile, So Energy offers a £40 gift card on fixed tariff switches for new and existing customers.
Experts often encourage households to switch to fixed tariffs to keep bills down, and these offers aim to help customers save money. Steffie Brader, head of strategic partnerships at Blue Light Card, commented: "With energy bills continuing to fluctuate, it's more important than ever that people take a few simple steps to check they're not overpaying. Switching providers or tariffs might feel like a small action, but it can make a meaningful difference to monthly household costs – especially for those already feeling the pressure."
