Nationwide Customers Face March 31 Deadline for £100 Loyalty Bonus
Nationwide Building Society customers are being advised to take immediate action to secure potential £100 bonus payments, with a critical deadline of March 31 approaching. Money Saving Expert, founded by consumer champion Martin Lewis, has issued a "last chance" warning to ensure households meet the necessary criteria for the Fairer Share loyalty scheme.
Understanding the Fairer Share Payment Criteria
The building society has distributed these bonus payments annually for the past three years, with expectations high for a repeat this summer. However, eligibility hinges on specific account requirements that must be fulfilled by the end of March.
To qualify, members must hold a Nationwide current account alongside either a savings account or mortgage. Additionally, savings accounts must contain a minimum balance of £100. Current accounts must have been actively used during the first quarter of the year through regular payments, as dormant or inactive accounts will be excluded from the offer.
Money Saving Expert's Urgent Guidance
Money Saving Expert stated: "For the past three years Nationwide has given some existing customers a £100 'Fairer Share' bonus. It's likely, though not guaranteed, to do the same again this year."
"Previously, the scheme has been announced in May and paid in June, though whether you got it depended on what you did in January, February and/or March – so right now is likely your last opportunity to maximise your chances."
The consumer advice platform added: "While January and February have now passed, you may still be able to qualify by meeting certain conditions by the end of this month."
Immediate Steps for Customers
Customers are encouraged to:
- Verify their Nationwide account activity for January through March
- Ensure savings accounts meet the £100 minimum balance requirement
- Make necessary transfers or payments before March 31
- Confirm that accounts are not classified as dormant
This timely reminder comes as many households seek to maximize their financial benefits amid ongoing economic pressures. Nationwide has not officially confirmed the 2026 payment schedule, but historical patterns suggest an announcement in May with distribution in June.
