LateRooms' Family Breaks Index conducted a detailed analysis of 50 European cities, evaluating practical factors such as average flight times, airport transfer durations, walkability, pushchair accessibility, child-friendly activities, and the availability of family-suitable accommodation. The city that emerged as the overall winner for families is Copenhagen, located just under a two-hour flight from the UK.
Trips with children are simplified thanks to its brief flight duration. Additionally, the metro system operates directly from the airport to the city centre in approximately 15 minutes, eliminating the hassle of multiple connections.
Easy Navigation and Accessibility for Families
Moving around Copenhagen with youngsters tends to be straightforward. It is a highly walkable city, allowing little ones to get plenty of exercise, and it boasts a strong accessibility rating. This makes it simpler for families with pushchairs to reach the main attractions. When toddler legs grow weary, they can relax in the buggy whilst parents explore.
