Cornwall's Millendreath Beach Resort to Receive Major £62 Million Redevelopment
Valley Resorts, a luxury self-catering holiday company, has obtained planning approval for a transformative £62 million project at Millendreath Beach Resort on Cornwall's south coast. This ambitious scheme is projected to generate 68 full-time, year-round positions, significantly boosting local employment opportunities.
Comprehensive Development Plans Unveiled
The redevelopment will introduce 182 holiday homes, a state-of-the-art pool, spa, and reception building, a sea-view restaurant, and tennis courts. Emphasizing environmental harmony, the coastal properties will be constructed using natural materials to blend seamlessly with the surrounding landscape and coastline colors.
Commercial real estate adviser Avison Young facilitated the planning consent from Cornwall Council on behalf of Valley Resorts. In collaboration with environmental specialists, the project includes a flood alleviation channel and defense wall designed with the Environment Agency and JBA to protect both the development and the local area from future flooding risks.
Sustainability and Community Benefits at the Forefront
Andrew Clark, Chief Executive at Valley Resorts, highlighted the company's commitment to thoughtful, sustainable development. "Millendreath Beach Resort is the latest of our four holiday house schemes in key coastal tourism areas in Cornwall set to be transformed through high-quality design," he stated. "We're passionate about preserving Cornwall's character and coastline, working closely with Cornwall Council and Avison Young through community consultation to ensure the redevelopment benefits the location."
Additional enhancements will include repairs to existing coastal defenses, new footpath connections, improved beach access, and public facilities such as a three-floor restaurant and a water sports centre.

Paul Harwood, Director of Planning Consultancy at Avison Young, expressed enthusiasm for the project's potential.
