The closures affect all remaining outlets of Brewers Fayre, Beefeater, Table Table, Bar and Block, and Cookhouse and Pub, many of which are located adjacent to Premier Inn hotels.
Final Service Dates Revealed
The last dinner service for Brewers Fayre restaurants will take place on September 7, 2026. Beefeater venues will close three days later on September 10, while Table Table, Bar and Block, and Cookhouse and Pub restaurants will all serve their final meals on September 3, 2026. These dates mark the end of an era for the brands, which have been a staple of roadside dining and hotel hospitality for decades.
Whitbread first announced its Accelerating Growth Plan in April 2024, which initially involved selling a number of its branded restaurants. In April 2026, the company extended the programme, subject to consultation, to include all remaining branded restaurants. The decision has now been finalised, with the company stating that the move will allow it to add 3,600 new hotel extension rooms in locations with strong demand.
Impact on Premier Inn Guests and Staff
A Whitbread spokesperson commented: 'We first announced our Accelerating Growth Plan to sell a number of our Branded Restaurants in April 2024. In April 2026 we announced that, subject to consultation, we were extending the programme to include all remaining Branded Restaurants that will see us add a total of 3,600 new hotel extension rooms in locations where we know we have strong demand. Following consultation, we have now taken the decision to proceed with this proposal.'
The spokesperson emphasised that Premier Inn guests will not be left without dining options. 'We will continue to offer a great breakfast and dinner at all hotels, replacing Branded Restaurants with a restaurant inside the hotel. This mirrors the format which is already in operation in over half of Premier Inn hotels and is highly popular with hotel guests.'

West Midlands Venues Affected

The decision marks a significant shift in Whitbread's strategy, moving away from standalone branded dining to focus on hotel expansion and integrated in-house restaurant services.
