A popular local brewery is set to make its debut at a major UK travel hub, marking a significant expansion. The Indian Brewery Company has confirmed it will open its first-ever airport bar at Birmingham Airport (BHX) in February 2026. This will be the brand's third location overall.
A Taste of Birmingham for Travellers
The new venue, to be situated within the airport's International Pier next to the departure lounge, promises to bring a distinctive flavour to pre-flight dining. It will showcase the brewery's range of independent, locally brewed craft beers, which will be paired with an innovative menu. This includes their signature Indian pizzas, breakfast naan sandwiches, and a selection of crafted cocktails.
Jaspal Purewal, CEO of The Indian Brewery Company, expressed his pride in the project. "We are super excited to be opening in Birmingham airport, creating more jobs and helping towards shining the light on Birmingham," said the self-described proud Brummie. "At Indian Brewery BHX, not only can you enjoy great food and drink, but you will also be able to browse our exclusive range of merchandise, including beer packs and t-shirts for taking on your travels worldwide."

The opening is seen as a nod to the region's rich food scene. Richard Gill, Commercial Director at Birmingham Airport, highlighted the synergy. "As the undisputed home of the 'curry capital', our region is often celebrated for its culinary contributions," he stated. "With a tailored travel menu of award-winning craft beers and innovative Indian fusion menu, the arrival of The Indian Brewery taps into this growing local hospitality scene and further diversifies our dining options for passengers."
The company has assured that the airport venue will maintain its commitment to fresh ingredients and creative twists on classic dishes, while adapting its offering to suit the fast-paced environment of airport dining.
Construction Underway for Winter Opening
Construction and fit-out for the new bar and restaurant are currently in progress ahead of the scheduled opening early next year. This expansion represents a major milestone for The Indian Brewery Company, bringing its celebrated concept to an international audience of passengers.
The move is also aligned with the airport's own period of growth, providing an enhanced food and beverage experience for the increasing number of people travelling through BHX.
