Jet2 has confirmed tourist taxes for 17 countries, warning UK holidaymakers about additional nightly charges that must be paid locally. These fees, which vary by destination and accommodation type, are not included in package holiday prices.

Portugal

In Albufeira, a tourist tax of €2 per person per night applies from April to October for guests aged 13 and above, up to seven nights. Portimão and Lagoa charge €2 (April-October) and €1 (November-March) for ages 13+. Faro imposes €2 (March-October) and €1 (November-February) for ages 16+, up to seven nights. Porto City taxes up to €3 per night for ages 12+, capped at €21 per stay. Vila Real de Santo António charges €1 per night in hotels (€0.50 in campsites) for ages 11+, with under-10s exempt. Olhao fees are €1 (November-March) and €2 (April-October) for ages 16+, up to five nights. Loule and Quarteira charge €2 (April-October) and €1 (November-March) for ages 16+, up to five nights.

Spain

Barcelona taxes range from €5 to €12 per night depending on star rating, plus 10% VAT, for ages 16+, up to seven nights. Rates increase from April 2026. Costa Brava, Costa Dorada, and Girona City have similar tiers: €0.60-€3 until March 2026, rising to €1.20-€6 by April 2027. Gran Canaria (Mogan) charges €0.15 per day. Ibiza, Majorca, and Menorca apply seasonal rates: €2-€4 (May-October) and €0.50-€1 (November-April) for ages 16+, plus 10% VAT.

Germany

Berlin imposes 7.5% of the net room rate. Cologne charges approximately 5% of accommodation cost.

Hungary

Budapest levies about 4% of accommodation cost.

Slovakia

Bratislava charges €3.50 per night for ages 18+.

France

Colmar taxes range from €1.10 to €3.95 per night for ages 18+, based on star rating. Nice and South of France: €1.50-€4.70. Paris: €3.25-€11.80 per night for ages 18+.

Croatia

Dubrovnik Coast charges €1.37-€2.65 per day for ages 12+, varying by season and location.

Italy

Florence: €3.50-€8 per night for ages 13+, up to seven nights. Rome: €4-€10 for ages 10+, up to ten nights. Sicily: up to €5 per night depending on rating. Sorrento Area: €1.50-€5 for ages 14+. Tuscany: €1-€5 for ages 10+. Venice: €1-€5 for ages 9+, plus a city access fee on specific dates. Verona: €1.50-€5 per night.

Poland

Gdansk charges 3.31 PLN per night.

Switzerland

Geneva imposes 3.75 CHF per night.

Greece

A Climate Resilience Fee applies per room per night: €2-€15 (April-October) and €0.50-€4 (November-March), based on star rating.

Malta

An eco tax of €1.50 per night for ages 18+, capped at €5 per stay, rising to €22.50 from July 2026.

Morocco

Charges range from 13 to 53 MAD per night based on star rating.

Monaco

Montenegro

Prague charges 50 CZK per night for ages 18+.

Austria

Vienna taxes 3.2% of hotel cost (excluding VAT and breakfast) until June 2026, rising to 5% from July 2026 and 8% from July 2027.
