But before you resign yourself to another week of expensive lunches and last-minute meal decisions, there is some good news. Dozens of restaurants, cafes, and supermarkets are offering deals where kids can eat for free or as little as £1 this May half-term.
From quick, budget-friendly bites at Asda and Morrisons to sit-down meals at the likes of Bill's and other high street chains, there are plenty of ways for families to dine out without the usual cost. However, many deals require the purchase of an adult meal or are limited to certain days and times, so families are encouraged to check the details before heading out. In-Store Cafes
ASDA Cafes
Kids eat for £1 (kids hot meal deal or cold pick and mix selection) with no adult minimum spend. When: All day, every day, for the year.
Dobbies Garden Centres
Kids eat for £1 (children's breakfast with any adult traditional or full breakfast, or a child's hot meal or pick n mix lunch box with an adult main meal). A £1 supplement applies to kids' Sunday roast at selected restaurants. When: Daily, breakfast until 11:30am and then noon to 3pm.
Dunelm Pausa Cafes
Kids eat free with every £4 spent in the cafe (choose a kids main, drink, and two snacks). When: All day, every day.
Morrisons Cafes
One free kids meal with one adult meal costing £5 or more, including The Breakfasts or The Classics, excluding extras. The child must be under 16 years old. When: All day, every day.

Turtle Bay
When an adult spends £15 or more, one child can enjoy a free meal from the kids' menu. When: Every day, during opening hours.
Ask Italian
Available through the ASK Perks rewards app and entitles up to two kids meals for free with at least one full price adult main meal. When: From May 22 to 31, 2026.
Bella Italia
Kids can enjoy three delicious courses and a drink for free or £1. When: Sunday to Thursday, one child (two to 11 years old) eats free all day with every adult meal.
Bill's
Up to two children aged 10 and under can eat free per adult main dish (breakfast, lunch, or dinner, excluding set menu). When: All day from May 25 to 29, 2026. Excludes Saturday and Sunday.
Brewdog
Kids can eat for free with the purchase of an adult meal when you select the 'Kids Eat Free' offer when booking. When: For England, Scotland, and Ireland May 23 to 31, 2026, but for Waterloo May 26 to 31, 2026.
Cafe Rouge
Kids can eat for free with the purchase of any adult main meal. When: Every day from noon to 4pm.
Franco Manca
One child (aged 12 years and under) gets a free individual kids' pizza for every full-priced adult main meal. When: Monday to Thursday. Availability may vary per restaurant, so check with your local restaurant before visiting.
Frankie and Benny's
Kids can eat for free with every adult main meal purchased. When: Check specific outlets for dates, but the offer will be available for the May half-term.
Farmhouse Inns
Up to two children eat free when you buy one adult main, plus get a free scoop of ice cream with every meal. You can claim up to eight free kids' eat free deals (with four paying adults) per transaction. When: Every Friday between April 24 to July 3, 2026.
Gordon Ramsay Restaurants
One child (aged 10 and under) gets a main course free from the Ramsay Kids Menu for each adult ordering two courses from the à la carte menu (one course must be a main course). When: All day, every day at selected restaurants.
Ikea
For just 95p, kids can enjoy pasta, tomato sauce, a soft drink, and a piece of fruit. When: Every day from 11am, no purchase of an adult meal necessary.
Las Iguanas (selected restaurants only)
One child (up to 12 years old) gets a free main, two sides, and a dessert from the Niños menu when an adult orders a main course from the a la carte menu.
