McDonald's Big Arch Burger Returns to UK Menu Permanently from January 5
McDonald's Big Arch Burger Returns Permanently Next Week

McDonald's has announced a major and permanent menu change for its UK customers, confirming the return of a hugely popular burger. The Big Arch, which garnered a cult following during its limited-time launch earlier this year, will be added back to menus permanently from January 5, 2025.

What's in the Returning Big Arch Burger?

The burger, which aims to be a premium offering, features a substantial build designed to satisfy hearty appetites. It consists of two beef patties, topped with slices of white cheddar cheese, a combination of crispy and fresh onions, shredded lettuce, and crunchy pickles. The defining component is its signature Big Arch sauce, which coats the ingredients.

Ben Fox, Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer for McDonald's UK and Ireland, explained the decision, stating: "The Big Arch is back for good. When we first introduced it, customers voted with their feet and made it clear they loved the unmistakably McDonald’s taste, the generous use of ingredients and the iconic Big Arch sauce." He added that the burger has "earned its permanent place on the menu alongside the Big Mac."

Pricing and Fan Reaction

The return comes with updated pricing. From its launch date, the Big Arch burger on its own will cost £8.79. For customers opting for a medium meal deal, which includes fries and a drink, the price will be £10.69.

The move to make the item permanent follows an overwhelmingly positive response from the public, particularly on social media platforms. The burger was first launched in the UK on June 18, 2024, and its subsequent removal from menus prompted significant disappointment among fans who had developed a strong affinity for it.

Social media users previously praised the offering, with one declaring on X (formerly Twitter): "Big arch burger come on ! McDonald's got it right with this one." Another fan commented: "Big Arch is the best thing Macca’s has come up with since Frank’s Red Hot Sauce and wings!!" A third simply stated: "Can confirm the new big Arch burger in McDonald's is by far the best burger they've done for years."

Replacing Seasonal Favourites

The permanent introduction of the Big Arch coincides with the end of McDonald's Christmas promotional menu. Customers are currently enjoying the last opportunities to try limited-time Grinch-themed items, such as pickle McShaker fries and a frozen Grinch lemonade. The arrival of the substantial Big Arch burger is positioned as a welcome consolation for fans sad to see the festive options go.

The burger will be available in branches across the country, offering a new permanent choice for UK McDonald's enthusiasts starting next week.
