This winter, a vibrant new addition is coming to Birmingham's historic Jewellery Quarter, as Besa coffee shop prepares to open its doors at the Setl development.
A Dream Brewed to Perfection
The new venture is the brainchild of Claire Di Palma and Alex Vorfi, local entrepreneurs who are finally realising their long-held ambition of launching their first coffee outlet. The duo are already well-known figures in the area, having owned and operated The Eagle Kickboxing Academy since 2012.
Through their martial arts academy, they have trained more than 4,000 students and nurtured several champions, embedding themselves deeply within the local community.
An Authentic South American Experience
Located on Ludgate Hill, Besa will specialise in bringing the rich flavours of South America to the heart of Birmingham. The core menu will feature specially selected Colombian and Brazilian coffee blends, promising an authentic taste experience for coffee aficionados.
Beyond the regular brews, the team will also serve up a rotating selection of seasonal specials. To complement the coffee, they will offer a range of locally baked cakes and pastries, catering perfectly to those with a sweet tooth.
Design Reflecting Local Heritage
The interior of the coffee shop has been thoughtfully designed to pay homage to its surroundings. The décor will reflect the heritage and history of the Jewellery Quarter and the industries that once flourished there.
Expect to see accents of silver, gold, and steel throughout the space, creating a warm and industrial-chic ambiance that connects the past with the present.
Expressing his enthusiasm, co-owner Alex Vorfi stated, "We're excited to be opening our first coffee shop at Setl; the location is ideal and the space is perfect for our concept."
Claire Di Palma added insight into the brand's ethos, saying, "Opening our own coffee shop is something we've wanted to do for a long time now and when we saw Setl we knew it was the perfect location. Besa means 'code of honour' – we chose the name because it reflects the values at the heart of the Besa brand; passion, authenticity and our commitment to quality."
