Rudy's Pizzeria Announces Opening Date for Sutton Coldfield Location
The highly anticipated opening of Rudy's pizzeria in Sutton Coldfield has been officially confirmed, with the restaurant set to launch in just days. This new establishment will breathe life into the former Built Unique Co gym site on Birmingham Road, transforming it into a vibrant dining destination.
Grand Opening and Charity Night Details
Rudy's will welcome its first customers on Saturday, March 21, during a special charity night open to the public. This event, running from 5pm to 8pm, will support the Erdington Foodbank, with all proceeds, including funds from a raffle, donated to the charity. Bookings for this inaugural evening are now available.
The restaurant will then fully open to the public from 12pm on Sunday, March 22. Operating seven days a week, it will serve until 10pm Sunday to Thursday and until 10.30pm on Fridays and Saturdays.
Restaurant Features and Authentic Offerings
Spanning 3,360 square feet across two floors, including a mezzanine, the venue can accommodate 100 diners indoors and an additional 32 outside. Rudy's promises a minimalist charm and laid-back vibe, perfect for pizza enthusiasts to relax.
The menu highlights authentic Neapolitan pizzas, accredited by the Association of True Neapolitan Pizza (AVPN). These pizzas are made with fresh daily dough, double-fermented for 24 hours, and feature premium ingredients like 00 Caputo flour, Fior di Latte mozzarella, and San Marzano tomatoes, cooked in traditional ovens in just 60 seconds.
To celebrate the opening, Rudy's is offering thousands of free pizzas to the first customers who sign up. The experience is complemented by a well-stocked bar serving Italian spritzes, local lagers, and classic cocktails, including seasonal specials like mango margaritas.
Local Impact and Expansion
This opening marks Birmingham's fourth Rudy's location, following outlets in Bennetts Hill, Brindleyplace, and Harborne, and the fifth in the West Midlands, with another in Leamington Spa. The Sutton Coldfield branch has created 20 new jobs in roles ranging from kitchen staff to management.
Neal Bates of Rudy's Pizza Napoletana expressed excitement about bringing the brand to Sutton Coldfield, emphasizing the team's passion for authentic Neapolitan pizza. Rudy's, which started in Manchester in 2015, has grown to over 37 pizzerias nationwide and is ranked 23rd globally among the World's 50 Best Pizzerias.
In Sutton Coldfield, Rudy's will compete with established pizzerias like Pizza by Goli and Pizza Express, as well as newcomer Caspian, all located nearby on Birmingham Road.
