Wetherspoons January sale: Drinks from 99p at 600+ pubs

Pub giant JD Wetherspoon has announced a major January sale event, set to slash prices on a wide range of drinks and meals at more than 600 of its establishments across the United Kingdom.

Sale Dates and Participating Pubs

The extensive promotional period is scheduled to run from Friday, January 2nd, until Thursday, January 15th, inclusive. Punters in Scotland will see the sale begin a day later, starting on Saturday, January 3rd. This nationwide initiative mirrors the traditional post-Christmas sales seen in retail, bringing significant discounts to the hospitality sector.

What's on Offer: Drinks and Low-Alcohol Options

Customers can expect substantial savings on a variety of beverages. Highlights include Coldwater Creek wine – available in Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, Rosé, and Merlot – with a 250ml glass priced at £2.99. Spirits lovers can enjoy a 25ml measure of Johnnie Walker Black Label or Tanqueray gin, complete with a mixer, for £1.99.

In a notable push catering to changing consumer habits, Wetherspoons is offering a full selection of low-alcohol and alcohol-free drinks for £1.69 each. The lineup features popular brands such as:

  • Guinness 0.0
  • Corona Cero
  • BrewDog Punk AF
  • Stella Artois Alcohol Free
  • Gordon’s 0.0 pink gin

Furthermore, Beck’s Blue and Sanpellegrino Aranciata Rossa will be available for just 99p each.

Food Deals and New Menu Additions

The sale extends to food, with several meal deals on offer. An 11-inch Margherita pizza or a crunchy chicken burger served with chips or a side salad will cost £4.99 when paired with a soft drink, or £6.52 with an alcoholic beverage.

Jacket potato fans are also in for a treat. A spud with one filling – choices include tuna mayo, cheese, chilli bean non-carne, baked beans, coleslaw, or roasted vegetables – is part of the same meal deal pricing. Customers can add an extra filling or a side salad for an additional 99p.

New to the menu are three gourmet jacket potato options, priced at £6.49 (with soft drink) and £8.02 (with alcoholic drink).

Tim Martin, Wetherspoon founder and chairman, commented on the sale: "Department stores and shops hold their sales in January, so it is the perfect time to also have a sale in the pubs. The range of food and drinks on sale is aimed at suiting a wide variety of tastes, and we have included a large selection of low-alcohol and non-alcoholic drinks."

He added his belief that the sale would prove popular with customers and reiterated that staff would continue to serve all patrons responsibly throughout the promotional period.
