Evri Launches New Yorkshire Fulfilment Centre with 150 Jobs Created
Delivery company Evri has officially opened a new fulfilment centre in Yorkshire, specifically in Barnsley, which is set to create 150 new jobs in the region. This development follows a significant £4 million investment from Evri, aimed at enhancing delivery services for businesses across the UK.
Boosting Delivery Speeds for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises
The new facility is strategically located less than 100 metres from Evri's existing Barnsley hub, a move designed to speed up deliveries significantly. One of the key features of this centre is its 11.59pm order cut-off time for next-day delivery. According to Evri, this will enable thousands of small and medium-sized businesses (SMEs) to compete with larger brands by getting their goods to customers faster.
In addition to next-day delivery, the centre offers same-day dispatch seven days a week and provides support for Amazon Prime distribution. This launch builds on the momentum of Barnsley being named the UK's first 'tech town', highlighting the area's growing reputation for innovation and technology.
Executive and Business Reactions
David Saenz, chief commercial officer at Evri Group, commented on the launch, stating, "The launch of this purpose-built fulfilment facility, designed to meet the needs of the shopper of today and tomorrow, will bring exciting opportunities to some of the UK's most loved brands as well as our country's deep reservoir of small and medium-sized companies." The ability to order at midnight, have the package in their network within an hour and be delivered the next day will be amazing for our customers."
