There are four areas where residents enjoy the highest standards of living, with almost no one experiencing money worries.
The Poshest Parts of the West Midlands
According to a recent deprivation list, four districts stand out as having no neighbourhoods classified as highly deprived. These are Lichfield and South Staffordshire in Staffordshire, along with Bromsgrove in Worcestershire and Stratford-upon-Avon in Warwickshire.
Lichfield
Lichfield is known for its historic cathedral and charming city center. It offers a high quality of life with excellent schools, low crime rates, and easy access to Birmingham. House prices often exceed half a million pounds, reflecting its desirability.
South Staffordshire
This rural district includes villages like Codsall and Wombourne. It boasts picturesque countryside, strong community spirit, and good transport links. Residents benefit from a peaceful environment away from urban pressures.
Bromsgrove
Bromsgrove is a market town with a blend of historic and modern amenities. It has a thriving local economy, top-rated schools, and frequent train services to Birmingham. The area is popular with families and professionals.
Stratford-upon-Avon

Contrast with Deprived Areas
These affluent areas stand in stark contrast to much of the West Midlands. In Birmingham, 43% of neighborhoods are considered highly deprived, making it the second poorest city in the country. Other Midlands cities like Nottingham, Stoke-on-Trent, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Leicester, and Coventry also rank among the top 50 poorest local authority areas.
