Liam Payne's nine-year-old son Bear is set to inherit the late One Direction star's entire £21 million fortune, newly released probate documents have revealed. The documents, lodged with the High Court, confirm that Bear is the sole beneficiary of his father's estate, with provisions allowing funds to be used immediately for his benefit.
Probate documents reveal estate details
The Letters of Administration, reported by The Sun, grant power of administration to Bear's mother, Cheryl Tweedy, and music lawyer Richard Bray. This means that parts of the estate can be spent to support Bear now, while the remainder will be held in trust until he turns 18.
Liam Payne, originally from Wolverhampton, tragically died on October 16, 2024, after falling from the third floor of the Casa Sur Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He was 31 years old.
Cheryl Tweedy committed to son's welfare
A source close to Cheryl Tweedy told the Daily Mail that the Girls Aloud star is dedicated to doing what is best for her son. "It's a small consolation that Bear will never want for anything, that he will at least benefit from that," the source said. "Liam had some very sensible people around him for a time and he adored Bear so much. He always wanted to do the right thing by him financially."
No claim from Kate Cassidy
At the time of his death, Liam was in a relationship with influencer Kate Cassidy. However, it is believed she does not intend to make any claim against his estate, leaving Bear as the sole beneficiary.
