Purely Diamonds Enters Administration After 40 Years

A family-run jewellery business has collapsed into administration after more than 40 years of trading. Stephen Tyler Ltd, which operates under the name Purely Diamonds, filed for administration on April 29, as confirmed by a notice in the Gazette.

Business History and Operations

Since 1979, the jeweller has been based in London and Manchester, specializing in handcrafted diamond rings and other jewellery. The company has built a reputation for quality craftsmanship and customer service.

Administration Details

Jeffrey Mark Brenner and James Stares of Antony Batty & Co have been appointed as administrators. Their primary goal is to rescue or restructure the business, according to the official notice.

Customers have praised the company online. One Trustpilot review stated: "Very helpful and relaxed service with no selling pressure from the company." Another added: "Would not hesitate to recommend and would use again."

Previous Industry Collapse

This follows the collapse of Andra Jewels Limited, a Birmingham-based jewellery company dating back to 1959, which entered administration in February. Andra Jewels employs around 50 staff and specializes in manufacturing and production support. It is a member of The National Association of Jewellers and the Responsible Jewellery Council.

The company's website notes: "With hundreds of years of collective experience we offer production support to jewellery brands as they grow from little acorns into great oak trees. We believe in preserving skills and sharing knowledge... From cleaning castings and soldering to polishing and plating, our skilled workforce has extensive experience."

The administrators will now work to save the business, which has been a staple in the jewellery industry for decades.
