Scaffolding firm expands with new Newport Docks site

One of Wales's foremost scaffolding companies has taken a significant step in its growth strategy by establishing a new base at Newport Docks.

Strategic Expansion for Welsh Business

Spartan Scaffolding, which operates from Swansea Docks, has acquired a dedicated one-acre site at Newport Docks. The move, announced in December 2025, is designed to provide the firm with increased storage capacity and superior logistical access to fuel its expansion ambitions.

The company, serving commercial, industrial, and domestic clients primarily across mid and south Wales, will use the new location for office functions and as a secure storage hub for its equipment.

Driving Future Growth Plans

Jason Lewis, the owner of Spartan Scaffolding, emphasised the importance of the new facility. He stated that securing the Newport Docks site provides enhanced capacity crucial for supporting existing contracts and facilitating future growth.

The site will enable more efficient deployment of services not only across south Wales but also into neighbouring English regions, marking a key strategic development for the business.

Professional Advisory Role

The acquisition was facilitated by Cardiff-based RJ Chartered Surveyors. Liam Slater, agency director at the firm, expressed delight in advising Spartan Scaffolding on the deal.

He praised Spartan as a fast-growing business with an excellent reputation in the construction sector and confirmed that the Newport Docks location is perfectly suited to support its continued expansion. The surveyors identified and secured the suitable space for the scaffolding firm's needs.

This expansion underscores the ongoing development within the Welsh construction supply chain and highlights Newport Docks as a strategic asset for businesses looking to improve their operational logistics.
