500,000 Tesco Shoppers Urged to Check Clubcard Vouchers
500,000 Tesco Shoppers Urged to Check Vouchers

Half a million Tesco shoppers are sitting on £100 of ‘hidden’ Clubcard vouchers, with more than 500,000 having over £100 to spend and a further 95,000 holding £200 or more. The supermarket giant is urging customers to log into their accounts and check for unclaimed savings that could be used for groceries, holidays, or entertainment.

How to Check Your Clubcard Balance

Shoppers can sign in to their Clubcard account via the Tesco Grocery & Clubcard app or at Tesco.com to manage vouchers. Unused vouchers are listed first with expiry dates, and a history of redeemed vouchers is also available. Tesco group membership and loyalty director Shama Wilson said: “If you really want to make the most of your Clubcard then check how many vouchers you are sitting on – you could be missing out on big savings on holidays, meals out or days out, or even the chance to get Disney+, cinema tickets or magazine subscriptions without spending a penny.”

Requesting and Using Vouchers

Points can be converted into vouchers once daily, either through the app or website, with a minimum of 150 points required. Requested vouchers are valid for two years from the request date, with the expiry date clearly shown. Once requested, vouchers arrive immediately and cannot be cancelled. It is important to note that Clubcard Christmas Saver members cannot request vouchers, and those opted into Virgin Atlantic Flying Club can convert points to Virgin Points between statements.

Paper vs. Digital Statements

When requesting vouchers online, customers automatically stop receiving paper statements by post and instead receive them via email. To revert to paper statements and vouchers, shoppers must opt in for mailings by post. For those who still receive paper statements, vouchers arrive in February, May, August, and November.

Maximising Your Clubcard Savings

With thousands of pounds in vouchers sitting idle, Tesco encourages customers to regularly check their accounts to avoid missing out on valuable discounts. The Clubcard scheme offers rewards not only on groceries but also on partner deals including restaurants, attractions, and entertainment subscriptions. By logging in and redeeming points, shoppers can unlock significant savings without any extra spending. The retailer advises setting reminders before voucher expiration to ensure full use of the benefits.
