Aldi is cutting the price of its popular Le Grand Poulet Rosé Magnum from £11.99 to £9.99, but shoppers will be limited to just three bottles each. The deal starts Thursday August 27 in Aldi stores, including those in Birmingham, and will run while stocks last.
The 150cl magnum is equivalent to two standard 75cl bottles, making it a substantial purchase for summer gatherings. Aldi confirmed the limit in an announcement, stating: "This elegant rosé has already ruled the roost with shoppers and wine experts alike this summer."
Wine expert praise and viral popularity
Mistress of Wine, Sam Caporn, recently praised the wine on Instagram, calling it a "gorgeous magnum" and "even more of a winner!". Aldi highlighted the wine's appeal, noting it is "defined by its freshness and character" and has become a "viral sensation".
The retailer added: "Equivalent to two standard bottles, the impressive 150cl magnum is perfect for those last-of-the-summer gatherings, ensuring no party runs dry." The wine is described as delicate and pale peach-pink in colour, with refreshing aromas of citrus fruits and red berries, and is a light, dry rosé that is crisp on the palate.
Standard bottle option and availability
Shoppers can also buy the standard-sized counterpart, Le Petit Poulet Rosé, priced at £6.29 for 75cl. The magnum is available in stores now and will be reduced to £9.99 from August 27 to September 2. Aldi stressed: "Three-bottle limit per customer. Once it’s gone, it’s gone!"
The price cut comes as Aldi revealed plans to open 16 new stores across the UK in the coming months. The Germany-based retailer has more than 1,080 UK stores and continues to expand its shop estate nationwide.
