Aston Villa are reportedly plotting a move for Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie as the January transfer window approaches. The Premier League side, managed by Unai Emery, is keen to bolster its midfield options to maintain a strong push for European qualification.

According to sources in Italy, Villa have identified the United States international as a key target. McKennie, 26, has impressed during his time in Serie A, showcasing his energy and box-to-box capabilities. The midfielder's contract with Juventus runs until 2025, but the Italian giants may be open to a sale to raise funds for their own recruitment plans.

Emery's side has relied heavily on the likes of Douglas Luiz and John McGinn, but added depth is required to cope with the demands of a congested fixture list. McKennie's versatility would allow him to play in a holding role or further forward, providing tactical flexibility.
