Birmingham's New Street Loses T4 Bubble Tea Shop as New Eateries Prepare to Open
Birmingham New Street T4 Bubble Tea Shop Closes Permanently

Birmingham's New Street Bubble Tea Spot Closes After Six Years

A favourite drink destination for bubble tea enthusiasts in Birmingham city centre has shut down permanently, marking the end of its six-year run. The T4 outlet, located on the bustling New Street, has closed its doors for good, with a 'To Let' sign now visible above its distinctive teal-coloured entrance.

This closure follows earlier indications of trouble, as the shop's website went offline and its phone number was disconnected earlier this year. A handwritten sign previously posted on the shuttered entrance read, "CLOSED. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year," while the brand's Instagram account was last updated in October 2025.

Customer Reactions and Chain Status

Regular customers often queued for T4's popular beverages, but the branch will not reopen. One customer commented on social media, questioning the shop's availability on delivery platforms like Deliveroo. T4 is a chain, but this specific New Street location has ceased operations, leaving its future replacement uncertain at this stage.

New Food and Drink Venues Coming to the Area

Despite this closure, the area is set to welcome two new food and drink establishments. Amorino, an ice cream café renowned for serving gelatos shaped like roses, is preparing to open on New Street. Additionally, Yiamas, a Greek eatery and deli, will launch on nearby Lower Temple Street.

Neither Amorino nor Yiamas has confirmed an exact opening date yet, but their arrivals signal ongoing changes and revitalisation in Birmingham's city centre retail and dining scene.
