Bullring Retail Reshuffle: Tag Heuer and Kate Spade Close

Bullring Shopping Centre Sees Wave of Retail Changes in Birmingham

Birmingham's iconic Bullring shopping centre is experiencing a period of substantial transformation, with several prominent retailers closing their doors in recent weeks. The luxury watch brand Tag Heuer has shuttered its boutique after three years of operation, marking a notable departure from the Upper West Mall.

Multiple High-Profile Closures Confirmed

The closure of Tag Heuer is part of a broader trend affecting the shopping centre. Kate Spade has also ceased operations in the Upper East Mall, removing its signage after six years of trading. Additionally, AllSaints has vacated its unit, ending a lengthy tenure that began with the Bullring's grand opening in 2003.

These vacancies now sit adjacent to other closed stores, including O'Donnell Moonshine, creating a noticeable impact on the retail landscape. Russell and Bromley has announced a closing down sale in its unit, while the Luxury Wellness Gifting pop-up shop has also shut, resulting in four consecutive empty spaces in that section.

New Openings and Relocations Amid the Changes

Despite the closures, the Bullring is not solely facing negative developments. Dr Martens has revealed plans to move into the former Diesel store location, indicating a strategic relocation within the centre. Furthermore, new brands are set to enter the shopping centre, with Lululemon and Subdued confirmed as upcoming additions.

Subdued will occupy the lower ground floor of the West Mall, taking over the space left vacant by Lovisa, which is itself moving to a different unit as part of the ongoing reshuffle. These changes highlight a dynamic period of adjustment for the Bullring, reflecting broader retail trends and consumer preferences.

BirminghamLive has reached out to Hammerson, the owner of the Bullring, for further insights into future developments and what shoppers can expect in the coming months. The centre continues to evolve, balancing departures with new arrivals to maintain its status as a key retail destination in the city.
