Lidl's Festive £1,000 Giveaway: How to Win in Gingerbread Kit
Lidl giving away £1,000 in Christmas gingerbread kits

Lidl is launching a deliciously festive competition to mark a major business milestone, giving shoppers the chance to win a share of £1,000 just in time for Christmas.

How the Sweet Christmas Giveaway Works

The supermarket is celebrating the launch of its 1,000th UK store by hiding £1,000 worth of Lidl Plus vouchers inside special, limited-edition Gingerbread Store kits. A total of ten £100 vouchers will be concealed within the kits, offering a dozen lucky winners a significant festive financial boost.

However, customers will need to be quick off the mark. Lidl is producing only 1,000 of these festive kits, making them a highly sought-after item. The kits will go on sale to the public on Thursday, November 27.

A Tasty Tribute to a New Store

The Lidl Gingerbread Store Kit is a detailed edible replica of the retailer's newest branch in East Grinstead, Sussex. The kit provides everything needed to build a miniature Lidl store, including handmade gingerbread panels, icing for assembly, and an array of charming decorations.

Joanna Gomer, Marketing Director at Lidl GB, said: "Reaching our 1,000th UK store is a huge milestone for Lidl, and we want to celebrate in a way that everyone across the country can enjoy. Our Gingerbread houses have been a customer favourite, so we mixed things up a bit by creating a special kit that not only showcases our new East Grinstead store, but also captures the fun and festive spirit of the season."

A Warning for Shoppers

This cheerful Christmas promotion comes with a serious note of caution for UK households. Consumers have recently been issued a scam warning concerning bogus online adverts that falsely use the Lidl brand.

These deceptive ads, which have been seen on platforms like Facebook and Instagram, lure shoppers with offers for discounted coffee machines, electric bikes, and other premium products. Clicking the link leads to a fraudulent website with no connection to Lidl, designed to steal personal and financial information.

This scam is a stark reminder of the 'Mystery Box' swindle from last year, which left many victims facing unauthorised charges of around £200 on their bank accounts. Shoppers are urged to be vigilant on social media and only trust official Lidl channels for genuine promotions.
