LK Bennett Website Shuts Down Following Administration Collapse

High-street fashion retailer LK Bennett has taken down its website after collapsing into administration earlier in 2026, marking another significant setback for the brand. This move comes despite the company continuing online sales for a period after the administration process began.

Administration and Sale Details

In January 2026, LK Bennett appointed John Noon and Mark Firmin of Alvarez & Marsal Europe LLP as joint administrators. Shortly thereafter, the brand was sold to US firm Gordon Brothers, which also owns Laura Ashley and Poundland. However, this transaction did not include LK Bennett's physical stores.

The brand had nine stand-alone stores and 13 concession outlets at the time of the deal, but these locations were excluded from the sale. As noted on the now-closed LK Bennett website, "The LK Bennett stores were not included in the transaction and continue to trade under the Administration."

Website Closure and Store Sales

The shutdown of the LK Bennett website represents a pivotal development, with the site stating, "Website and phone order now closed- Shop in store for a limited time." Customers who have already placed online orders will still have their purchases processed as usual.

Concurrently, the brand has launched an extensive closing-down sale across all its UK stores, offering discounts of up to 75% off. The sales have been bolstered by the arrival of "remaining warehouse stock just arrived in stores," with LK Bennett confirming that "everything [is] reduced" with up to 80% off on various items.

Official Statement and Customer Impact

A spokesperson for LK Bennett commented on the sale, saying, "There are some truly exceptional offers available across all categories. Everything has been reduced, including new season pieces. We anticipate strong demand and expect key styles to sell through quickly; we would like to thank our loyal customers for their support over the years and invite them to shop early to avoid disappointment."

This situation highlights the ongoing challenges faced by retailers in the competitive fashion market, with LK Bennett's administration and subsequent website closure underscoring the brand's struggles. The closing-down sales provide an opportunity for customers to purchase items at heavily discounted prices while the stores remain operational for a limited time.
