McArthurGlen Outlet Set to Open More Stores Before 2026 End
McArthurGlen Outlet to Open More Stores by 2026

More new stores are set to open at the McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands before the end of 2026, the centre's manager has revealed. David Jackson told BirminghamLive that the centre is 'in talks' with a number of brands that would like to open stores at the centre. This announcement comes after McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands celebrated its fifth anniversary in April.

The outlet, located in Cannock, officially opened to customers on April 12, 2021, and has since welcomed more than 15 million visitors. The designer outlet has gone from strength to strength and is now completely full with retailers, including the likes of Coach, Nike, BOSS, Levi's, and Tommy Hilfiger. However, in an exclusive chat with BirminghamLive, Mr. Jackson revealed that more stores will be coming this year, and the centre is in talks with a number of brands who would like to join the ranks.

Mr. Jackson also expressed his desire to open a Marks & Spencer Outlet at the Cannock centre, as well as Pandora and Nando's. He said: 'A dream brand I would like to see open at McArthurGlen Designer Outlet West Midlands, there's actually a couple. A Marks & Spencer's Outlet is a bit of a dream brand for us. Then there's Pandora and Nando's. We are talking to all three, which is great.' He added: 'It's safe to say, this year, we will absolutely be opening more stores. And there will be more to follow on that.'

Mr. Jackson highlighted the success of existing brands at the outlet, stating: 'The brands that come here are doing incredibly well, they're very successful. So those other retail brands we've talked about are very interested to come to the scheme as retailers. So we're in a very fortunate position at the moment where we've got a list of brands that would like to join us that we are speaking to, but also we're able to explore other avenues.' He also discussed the balance between experiential and physical retail: 'My opinion on the market at the minute, there is a really fine balance between experiential retail and physical retail in stores and our role is to give guests the very best products, brands at that 30 per cent discount all year round. We do that the best we can. But also there's a whole piece around when you do bring in new brands, how do they add to the mix? We're talking to a couple of people at the moment with things such as padel courts, pilates studios, conversations are developing, so we're always looking to the future, but we are always focused on what we do well now as well, and continue to grow that fantastic brand mix.'

The designer outlet shopping village is located in Cannock just off Eastern Way, a 30-minute drive from Birmingham. The outlet was granted planning permission in 2016 and finally opened to the public in April 2021. It opened with brands including Fred Perry, Nike, Boss, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Ted Baker, Coach, Radley, Le Creuset, and Yankee Candle. Normal opening hours are from 10am to 8pm Monday to Friday, 9am to 8pm on Saturdays, and 10am to 6pm on Sundays.
