A landmark Chinese buffet restaurant in the West Midlands has announced its shock closure after two decades of serving the community. Ming Moon, situated on Stafford Road in the Oxley area of Wolverhampton, will permanently shut its doors on May 9.

The popular eatery first opened in 2006 and has been a staple for local residents, hosting countless celebrations, family gatherings, and creating unforgettable memories over the past 20 years.

In a heartfelt statement posted on its Facebook page, Ming Moon expressed gratitude to its loyal customers, saying: "After 20 incredible years, we say goodbye to Ming Moon Wolverhampton. From 2006 to 2026, it has been a place filled with celebrations, family gatherings, and unforgettable memories. We are truly grateful for every visit and every moment shared with us."

The restaurant added: "As we move into a new chapter, thank you for your continued support – it has meant everything to us."

While the Wolverhampton branch is closing, Ming Moon continues to operate in Birmingham city centre at 16 Hurst Street. The restaurant also noted a late-night entrance for after 11pm at 8 Wrottesley Street.

Regulars have expressed sadness at the closure, with many taking to social media to share fond memories of meals at the buffet. The restaurant's management has not disclosed the exact reasons for the closure but hinted at future plans.
