Morrisons Slashes Christmas Veg to 5p in Major Price Cut for UK Shoppers
Morrisons cuts Christmas veg prices to 5p in UK farmer deal

Supermarket giant Morrisons has launched a major price-cutting initiative across all its UK stores, dramatically reducing the cost of key Christmas dinner vegetables to help customers during the festive period.

Festive Veg for Just 5p Each

The headline offer, available to More Card holders, sees four British-grown vegetable lines priced at an astonishing just 5p each. The promotion runs from Wednesday, December 18th until Thursday, December 26th, 2025. Shoppers can pick up 1kg of British Carrots, 500g of British Parsnips, 500g of British Brussels Sprouts, and a whole British Swede for the tiny sum.

In a further deal, a 1.5kg bag of Morrisons British Best Roasting Potatoes will be priced at only £1 until Boxing Day. The supermarket stated the move is designed to let Brits enjoy full festive trimmings "at cut prices, not portions".

A Direct Deal with British Farmers

Crucially, Morrisons bosses have confirmed that these seasonal savings have been achieved without reducing the price paid to producers. The offer was constructed in direct collaboration with UK farmers, protecting the crucial farmgate price while passing on lower costs to the customer.

Fraser Lovatt, Market Street Director at Morrisons, commented: “We work directly with British farmers and growers all year round to bring our customers the freshest, highest-quality British produce. From sprouts to spuds, seasonal veg are at the heart of the Christmas dinner plate and we’re proud to help our customers enjoy them for less, while continuing to champion and support the British farmers who grow them.”

The company said this reaffirms its commitment to providing value alongside quality, fairness, and strong partnerships with British suppliers.

Christmas and New Year Opening Hours

Alongside the price cuts, Morrisons has confirmed its store opening schedule for the festive period. While some local variations may apply, the majority of its 2,200 supermarkets will follow the pattern below:

  • Christmas Eve: Most branches will trade from 6am until 6pm.
  • Christmas Day: All stores will be closed.
  • Boxing Day: Most locations will reopen, operating from 9am to 6pm.

For the New Year, trading hours will be slightly reduced:

  • New Year's Eve: Stores are set to open from 7am to 7pm.
  • New Year's Day: Most will revert to a 9am until 6pm schedule.

Shoppers are advised to check the precise times for their local branch using the Morrisons store finder online.
