Mappin & Webb Returns to Birmingham After 20+ Year Absence
Prestigious Jeweller Mappin & Webb Returns to Birmingham

One of Britain's most esteemed jewellers has made a triumphant return to England's second city. Mappin & Webb has opened a new showroom in Birmingham, marking its comeback after an absence of more than two decades.

A Strategic Homecoming in a Historic Setting

The new boutique, operated by The Watches of Switzerland Group, is situated beneath the historic Burlington Hotel on New Street. This prime location is just a short walk from the world-famous Jewellery Quarter, creating a symbolic link between the brand's craftsmanship and the city's rich heritage in design and manufacturing.

Following an extensive seven-month refurbishment, the 260 square metre space has been transformed into a refined, immersive environment. The design carefully preserves the building's historic character while introducing modern luxury. Key features include a dedicated hospitality bar, private consultation areas, and striking architectural details that nod to the location's legacy.

An Unprecedented Rolex Partnership Feature

In a significant first for Birmingham, the showroom introduces an external Rolex clock, underscoring the century-long relationship between the two iconic brands. Inside, a dedicated Rolex area forms the heart of the showroom, allowing clients to explore the brand's complete legendary collections.

The venue also proudly houses a Rolex Certified Pre-owned collection. Each pre-owned timepiece is rigorously authenticated and serviced by Rolex itself and comes with a two-year international guarantee, offering full assurance to collectors and enthusiasts.

A Curated World of Luxury Watch and Jewellery Brands

Beyond Rolex, the showroom presents a world-class selection of other premier watchmakers. Visitors can discover luxury timepieces from IWC Schaffhausen, Jaeger-LeCoultre, TAG Heuer, and Tudor.

The jewellery offering is equally impressive, featuring an exclusive collection from innovative American designer David Yurman, available only through The Watches of Switzerland Group in the UK. Venetian jeweller Roberto Coin is also featured alongside Mappin & Webb's own signature fine jewellery collections, which celebrate 250 years of heritage and contemporary design.

Craig Bolton, President of UK & Europe for The Watches of Switzerland Group, expressed his pride in the opening: "We are incredibly proud to bring Mappin & Webb back to Birmingham – a city whose spirit and creativity mirrors our own. Just steps from the historic Jewellery Quarter, this opening feels like a true homecoming."

The Birmingham showroom joins other new-concept Mappin & Webb locations in cities like York, Bluewater, Glasgow, and Manchester. This expansion is part of the Group's strategic vision to strengthen its presence in key UK cities, blending heritage with innovation. The return also signifies a renewed commitment to the Birmingham community through local partnerships and charitable initiatives.
