High street retailer Primark has issued an urgent product recall for two types of baby dummy clips, warning parents to stop using them immediately due to safety concerns.
Which Products Are Affected?
The recall involves two specific products: the 2pk Soother Clip – Baby Bear with product code Kimball no. 69489, and the 2pk Soother Clip - Balloon with product code Kimball no. 80010.
These items were available for purchase in Primark stores across the United Kingdom during specific periods. The Baby Bear design was sold between June 2025 and August 2025, while the Balloon design was available from March 2025 to September 2025.
Why Are They Being Recalled?
In an official statement, Primark confirmed that the products have been found to be non-compliant with relevant safety standards specific to soother clips.
The retailer stated, "We've learned the products do not meet our usual high safety standards." While the company has not disclosed the exact nature of the safety risk, the failure to meet mandatory standards poses a potential hazard to infants.
What Should Customers Do?
Primark has issued clear instructions for customers who have purchased these items:
- Stop using the product immediately
- Return the item to any Primark store
- No proof of purchase is required
- Customers will receive a full refund
The company has also made a public plea for customers to "spread the word about this recall, especially if you know that the recalled product was offered, borrowed or sold to someone else."
Primark has apologised for any inconvenience and concerns this recall may cause. This action demonstrates the retailer's commitment to addressing potential safety issues proactively, even when discovered after products have reached consumers.
