Major UK Fashion Retailer Quiz Enters Administration, Launches Full Clearance Sale
A significant fashion chain in the United Kingdom has officially collapsed into administration, resulting in a comprehensive clearance sale being initiated across all of its retail locations. Quiz, which operates a network of 40 stores throughout the UK, went bust earlier this month, prompting immediate action from appointed administrators.
Administrators Announce Store Operations and Urgent Buyer Search
Joint administrators from Interpath have released a new update confirming that all 40 Quiz stores will remain open for the time being. They have announced the commencement of additional clearance discounts on all remaining stock in an effort to liquidate assets. Geoff Jacobs, fellow joint administrator and managing director at Interpath, emphasized the urgency of the situation, stating, "Any parties with an interest in acquiring the stock, store operations and infrastructure of Quiz should contact us as a matter of urgency."
The administrators are actively seeking potential buyers to take over the business's stock, store operations, and infrastructure. They have urged interested parties to reach out as soon as possible to explore acquisition opportunities. This move aims to salvage some value from the collapsed retailer while providing a chance for continuity in operations.
Customer Refunds and Employee Support Measures
In a blow to consumers, shoppers who have made returns online but have not yet received their money will unfortunately not receive a refund directly from Quiz. The administrators have advised affected customers to contact the provider of the credit or debit card used for the payment to seek assistance with chargebacks or disputes.
Regarding the workforce impacted by the collapse, Geoff Jacobs added, "We are ensuring that those employees impacted by redundancy are provided with all available support at this difficult time." This includes guidance on redundancy processes and access to support services to help staff navigate the challenging transition.
