Tesco and Pampers Launch Free Premature Sleepsuits for UK Families
Tesco Launches Free Premature Sleepsuits with Pampers

Tesco has announced a significant new partnership with Pampers that is set to provide essential support to millions of families across the United Kingdom. The supermarket giant is rolling out a complimentary scheme offering free F&F Premature Sleepsuits, specifically designed for infants weighing between three and four pounds.

Expanding Support for Premature Newborns

This initiative builds upon an existing collaboration between Tesco and Pampers, which already supplies free Pampers Preemie Protection nappies to parents and carers of premature babies throughout the country. From this week onwards, new parents and caregivers can collect a three-pack of these specially crafted sleepsuits from any participating Tesco Pharmacy during standard opening hours.

Thoughtful Design Features

The sleepsuits incorporate several innovative design elements tailored to meet the unique needs of premature infants:

  • Soft rip tape fastenings replace traditional poppers to protect delicate skin and accommodate medical lines
  • No internal seams or labels to ensure maximum comfort
  • A lay-flat design that opens completely for easier dressing
  • 100% cotton fabric tested for 90-degree Celsius hospital-grade washing
  • Tumble-dry safe construction suitable for both hospital and home use

With more than 350 branches participating in this programme, Tesco becomes the only British supermarket to offer sleepsuits in this specific size range. The free sleepsuits become available when parents or carers collect their first pack of nappies from a pharmacy location.

Making a Meaningful Difference

Orsolya Szeman, Tesco's senior buying manager for Baby, emphasised the importance of this support: "We understand how overwhelming the early stages of parenting can be, particularly for families whose babies arrive early and may require additional assistance. That's why we're proud to expand our support with these free packs of F&F Premature Sleepsuits, designed specifically for babies born prematurely."

Jasveen Saidha, F&F lead buying manager for Baby, added: "Inspired by our existing free nappy initiative, we wanted to further strengthen support for parents during this crucial stage of early parenthood. These sleepsuits, created in collaboration with Pampers, incorporate thoughtful design details that enable easier dressing and feeding while ensuring maximum comfort for premature babies."

The supermarket hopes this expanded offering will provide meaningful assistance to families navigating the challenging early days of caring for a premature newborn, offering both practical support and emotional reassurance during what can be an exceptionally demanding time.
