Major UK Discount Retailer Enters Administration, Four Stores Permanently Closed
A significant UK discount retailer has collapsed into administration, resulting in the permanent closure of four stores and placing more than 100 locations across the country at risk. The Original Factory Shop has initiated a clearance sale at its Bridgnorth store, offering discounts of up to 20% on various items.
Administration and Store Closures
The brand entered administration in January, with its owner, Modella Capital, stating that there was no realistic possibility of trading profitably again. This decision has led to the immediate shutdown of stores in Prudhoe, Northumberland; Ballycastle and Portrush in County Antrim; and Warrenpoint in County Down.
Clearance Sale Details
In a recent Facebook update, the Bridgnorth store announced the commencement of a closing down sale, though a specific closing date remains uncertain. The store mentioned, We are still receiving a large amount of questions regarding a closing day. As yet we are still unaware of a timeframe and I will update as soon as I can. Despite the uncertainty, new stock continues to arrive at heavily discounted prices, encouraging customers to visit for bargains while the store remains open.
