Wolves goalkeeper agrees deal to join Coventry City
Wolves goalkeeper agrees Coventry City move

Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Louie Moulden has agreed a permanent deal to join Championship side Coventry City, according to reports.

Move to Coventry confirmed

The 22-year-old shot-stopper, who has been with Wolves since joining the academy in 2019, will make the switch to the CBS Arena as part of a permanent transfer. The deal is expected to be completed in the coming days, with Moulden set to sign a contract with the Sky Blues.

Moulden, who has represented England at youth level, has spent time on loan at several clubs during his time at Wolves, including National League sides Solihull Moors and Ebbsfleet United, as well as Scottish Premiership club Motherwell. He also had a spell at League Two side Grimsby Town.

Moulden's Wolves career

The goalkeeper joined Wolves from Manchester City's academy in 2019 and has been a regular for the club's under-21 side. He has yet to make a senior appearance for the Wolves first team, but has been a consistent performer for the development squad.

His move to Coventry will see him compete for a place in the Sky Blues' first-team squad, with the club currently competing in the Championship. Coventry finished 10th in the second tier last season, narrowly missing out on a play-off spot.

Impact on both clubs

For Wolves, the departure of Moulden frees up a spot in their goalkeeping department, with the club likely to look for a replacement to bolster their options. The Premier League side currently have Jose Sa, Daniel Bentley, and Tom King as their senior goalkeepers.

Coventry, meanwhile, will add a young, hungry goalkeeper to their ranks as they look to build on last season's solid campaign. The Sky Blues have been active in the transfer market this summer, bringing in several new faces to strengthen their squad.

According to the source, the deal is a permanent transfer, with no loan clause involved. Moulden is expected to join up with his new teammates for pre-season training ahead of the 2024-25 campaign.
