The survey, conducted by the digital platform GoDaddy, reveals that 50% of those aged between 18 and 25 have launched a venture, with many citing the desire for flexibility and control over their careers as key motivators.

The research indicates that Gen Z entrepreneurs are leveraging digital tools and social media to build their businesses. Nearly 60% of respondents said they use online platforms to market their products or services, while 45% rely on e-commerce sites to generate sales.
Motivations for Starting a Business
Among the top reasons for starting a business, 38% of Gen Z cited the need for a flexible work schedule, 35% wanted to pursue a passion, and 28% sought financial independence. The study also found that 22% started a business due to a lack of traditional job opportunities.
Challenges Faced
Despite the entrepreneurial spirit, Gen Z business owners face significant hurdles. The most common challenges include lack of funding (42%), limited business knowledge (38%), and difficulty balancing work and personal life (35%).
Support Systems
Many Gen Z entrepreneurs turn to online resources for support. Over 40% use social media groups and forums for advice, while 30% seek mentorship from experienced business owners. Additionally, 25% have taken online courses to improve their skills.
The study highlights the growing trend of young people turning to entrepreneurship, driven by digital proficiency and a changing economic landscape. As Gen Z continues to enter the workforce, their entrepreneurial activities are likely to reshape the small business sector.
