Monmouthshire Building Society has announced a significant two-year partnership with St David's Hospice Care, marking a major commitment to supporting local communities across South East Wales.
A Vital Partnership for Community Care
The building society will work closely with the hospice over the next 24 months to raise vital funds and awareness for palliative care services. This collaboration represents a shared commitment to ensuring everyone has access to high-quality, compassionate end-of-life care when they need it most.
St David's Hospice Care has grown to become one of the UK's largest providers of hospice at home care, supporting over 3,200 patients and their families annually throughout Newport, Caerphilly, Torfaen, Monmouthshire, and Mid and South Powys.
Making a Meaningful Difference
Dawn Gunter, Chief Operating Officer of Monmouthshire Building Society, expressed the organisation's pride in the new partnership. "We're incredibly proud to be partnering with St David's Hospice Care, a charity that does such vital work in our communities," she stated.
"Supporting local people has always been at the heart of what we do at Monmouthshire Building Society, and this partnership is another way for us to give something back to the areas we serve."
The Society emphasised that their commitment extends beyond financial services, aiming to create lasting, meaningful impact through this collaboration.
Exciting Fundraising Activities Ahead
Kris Broome, Director of Fundraising at St David's Hospice Care, welcomed the partnership with enthusiasm. "We are thrilled to have been chosen by Monmouthshire Building Society as their charity of choice for a two-year partnership," he said.
The fundraising calendar promises to be diverse and engaging, with staff encouraged to participate in various activities including:
- Abseiling adventures
- Running and cycling events
- Sponsored walks
- Charity dinners
- Many other community activities
This partnership will not only generate much-needed funds but also significantly raise awareness about the free, comprehensive services provided by the hospice throughout the region.
Both organisations expressed confidence that their combined efforts will inspire broader community support and make a genuine difference to families facing life-limiting illnesses.
