Local charities and community groups in Crewkerne are being invited to apply for a share of £6,700 in funding from housebuilder Allison Homes South West. The money is intended to support projects focused on mental health, education, youth services, and the environment.
The funding comes from a pledge by Allison Homes to donate £100 to local causes for every home occupied at its Goldwell Farm development. The site is currently delivering 67 new affordable homes for local families, and the funding is part of a commitment to create a lasting positive impact in the area.
Funding available for local projects
Andy Cattermole, speaking on behalf of Allison Homes, said: “At Allison Homes, we recognise that creating thriving communities doesn’t just come from building great homes. It’s local people, community groups and charities that help to make places truly special. We’re bringing forward this funding because we want to support the people and groups who go the extra mile for their community.”
Groups and projects interested in applying are asked to send an email explaining how the funds would be used to make a positive impact locally. Proposals can be submitted to planningsw@allison-homes.com for consideration.
Affordable homes in Somerset
Andy added: “Our development is delivering much-needed affordable homes in Somerset at a time when more than 13,000 households are on the waiting list for social housing. Somerset is an important area of growth for us, and we hope to continue supporting local people and charities for years to come.”
The housebuilder broke ground at the Crewkerne site earlier this summer alongside partner organisation Abri. Work is now well underway to deliver the new homes and support the surrounding community.
