Cyclists to Ride 110 Miles for Bowel Cancer Services in Wales
Cyclists Ride 110 Miles for Bowel Cancer Services

Members of a local cycling club, in partnership with the Bobby and Friends Trust, are preparing for an extraordinary endurance challenge. The participants will cycle more than 110 miles from Cefneithin to Bristol over two days, starting on Thursday, June 19 and concluding on Friday, June 20.

Supporting Bowel Cancer Patients

The Clwb Beicio Cefneithin Cycle Ride will see riders push their physical limits to raise funds for Hywel Dda University Health Board’s Colorectal Service. This effort aims to enhance care and support for individuals and families affected by bowel cancer at Glangwili Hospital and Prince Philip Hospital.

Robert Bonell, from Clwb Beicio Cefneithin, said: "The work carried out by these units is incredibly important to so many families across our communities. The money raised will help support the fantastic care and support provided to patients facing bowel cancer. Every mile ridden is to support the incredible work carried out by these hospital teams every single day."

21 Years of Community Fundraising

For more than 21 years, these charity cycle rides have brought people together to support local causes and make a genuine difference within the community. Bonell added: "Every donation, sponsorship and message of support helps motivate the team as they prepare to take on this challenge and raise as much money as possible for these vital services."

Claire Rumble, fundraising officer, commented: "What a fantastic challenge. We wish all those taking part in the cycle a huge good luck. We look forward to hearing all about it! The generous charitable donations we receive don’t replace NHS funding. Instead, they are used to provide items and activities above and beyond core NHS expenditure, such as more welcoming surroundings for patients, families and staff, and the latest equipment."
