East Cheshire Hospice's 2025 Starlight Walk Announced

East Cheshire Hospice Announces 2025 Starlight Walk Details

The eagerly anticipated Starlight Walk for East Cheshire Hospice is set to return in spring 2025, with organisers confirming the event will take place on Thursday, April 16. The popular fundraiser will once again be held at the picturesque Capesthorne Hall, promising an evening of light, music, and community spirit in support of the hospice's vital services.

A Festival Atmosphere Under the Stars

This year's event is being designed as a full festival experience, with organisers planning live entertainment, food, and drink to create a vibrant atmosphere. Gates will open at 6pm, with entertainment beginning at 6.15pm. The walk itself will commence at 7.15pm, with the entire event concluding at 9.45pm.

Participants will have the opportunity to complete multiple laps of the 2.5 kilometre course through scenic woodland, with the route featuring special lighting installations, lanterns, fire pits, and points of reflection. A particularly striking feature will be a floodlit lake along the pathway, adding to the magical atmosphere.

More Than Just a Walk

Claire Gorton, Community and Events Fundraiser for East Cheshire Hospice, emphasised the special nature of the event: "It'll be an unforgettable evening as we celebrate the lives of those who mean the most to us. Starlight Walk is more than a walk - it's a vibrant, uplifting experience filled with light, music and togetherness."

She encouraged participants to fully embrace the festival spirit: "We encourage everyone to embrace the festival vibe - glitter, glow sticks, bright colours, flower crowns… let's make it a night to remember!"

Fundraising for Vital Community Care

The entrance fee for the walk covers the basic costs of staging the event, so organisers are asking all participants to aim to raise at least £50 in sponsorship. Gorton explained the importance of this fundraising: "Every penny raised makes a huge difference helping us to continue to provide care in the local community."

For those who would prefer not to seek sponsorship, there is an alternative option to add an extra donation of £50 when booking a place on the walk.

Practical Information for Participants

The organisers have confirmed that well-behaved dogs are welcome to accompany walkers, though they note there will be no fireworks during the event. It's important for potential participants to be aware that the terrain means the walk is not accessible for wheelchairs or pushchairs.

The Starlight Walk has become one of East Cheshire Hospice's flagship fundraising events, combining community participation with vital financial support for the hospice's work providing specialist care for patients and their families across the region.
