The Jon Egging Trust (JET) is inviting cyclists, supporters, and local businesses to join the eighth and final JETRide this September, a flagship fundraising event designed to raise vital funds for young people facing adversity. Scheduled for Saturday, September 19, at RAF Cranwell, the ride offers participants a choice of 30, 50, 75, or 100-mile routes through the Lincolnshire countryside, catering to all levels of experience and ambition.
A Milestone Moment for JET in Lincolnshire
This final JETRide marks a poignant chapter for the charity, which began its journey in Lincolnshire in 2012 with just 10 students on its first Blue Skies programme. Since then, the county has evolved into one of JET's busiest and most dynamic regions, with its long-term programmes helping young people re-engage with learning, develop aspirations, and build essential skills for employment and life.
Last academic year, JET's impact in Lincolnshire was substantial, supporting 133 young people through its Blue Skies programme and engaging an additional 656 students through Inspirational Outreach. These initiatives focus on developing motivation, aspiration, resilience, confidence, and goal-setting skills, enabling participants to overcome barriers and realise their full potential.
Partnerships Powering Positive Change
JET's work in the county is underpinned by a robust network of partners, including BAE Systems, Babcock, the RAF Red Arrows, RAF Cranwell, RAF Coningsby, and RAF Waddington. These organisations provide inspirational STEM experiences and access to professional role models, enhancing the charity's programmes. RAF Cranwell has played a pivotal role, supporting more than 20 JET sessions this academic year, alongside additional partners such as Ascent, Affinity, and Babcock.
The final JETRide is not just a fundraising event but a celebration of the collective impact achieved through these collaborations.
