Hilton Couple Walk 100km for Baby Charity After Stillbirths

A brave couple from Hilton are preparing to take on a massive 100k walking challenge to support a vital baby and pregnancy charity.

Personal Tragedy Inspires Fundraising

Hollie and James Langton are taking on the gruelling journey after tragically suffering two stillbirths. The inspirational pair will tackle the North Yorkshire Ultra Challenge over two days between June 20, 2026 and June 21, 2026.

They are raising money for Tommy’s Charity, which funds medical research into the causes of premature birth, stillbirth, and miscarriage.

The couple received invaluable support from the charity and wanted to give back after later welcoming two 'rainbow' babies, Elsie and Hettie.

So far, they have already raised almost £1,500, successfully smashing their original fundraising target.

Couple's Emotional Journey

Hollie said: “We had two beautiful stillborn babies, Isabelle in 2018 and Freddie in 2020. We were told there was no reason why this happened and after extensively searching Google trying to find answers myself, I came across Tommy’s.”

“We’re doing this to help raise funds for Tommy’s to continue their research to reduce baby loss and for other people like us to receive the care and support from Tommy’s. The North Yorkshire Ultra Challenge involves walking 100km over two days with a camp out at 50km.”

Challenge Details

The special event marks the first-ever edition of the North Yorks Challenge, which is hosted by the Ultra Challenge organisation.

The loving couple chose this specific location due to their fond love for the scenic views along the coastal route. The challenge will officially start in Scarborough before making its way to Whitby and back again.

Featuring a beautiful mix of dramatic coastline, historic seaside towns, and wild moorland, the route is set to become a standout event in the UK calendar.

These events continue to be a very popular choice for fundraising efforts across the country, with recent challenges raising as much as £1.3m.
