Lincolnshire Young Farmers Announce April Charity Month for Air Ambulance

Lincolnshire Young Farmers have unveiled an exciting charity month scheduled for April, dedicated to raising vital funds for two important causes: Lincs YFC and the Lincs and Notts Air Ambulance. This initiative aims to bring the community together through a series of engaging and diverse events, all designed to support these essential services.

Kickoff with the Chopper Challenge on Easter Weekend

The charity month will commence over the Easter weekend with the highly anticipated Chopper Challenge. In this unique event, Young Farmers will drive a tractor and trailer, featuring a custom-built replica of an air ambulance, across various locations in Lincolnshire. Key stops include Lincoln Waterside, Louth Cattle Market, Skegness, and Boston Market Place, allowing locals to join in and contribute to the fundraising efforts.

Cycling Challenge from Boston to Lincoln

On Saturday, April 11, participants will take on a demanding cycling challenge, covering a distance of 34 miles from Boston Stump to Lincoln Cathedral. This event promises to test endurance while raising awareness and donations for the air ambulance service, highlighting the importance of community support in rural areas.

During the third weekend of April, the focus shifts to sports with a charity hockey tournament at Horncastle Hockey Club. Local hockey clubs will compete in friendly matches, fostering camaraderie and competitive spirit, all in aid of the fundraising goals for Lincs YFC and the air ambulance.

Family Day Finale at Potterhamworth Village Hall

To conclude the charity month, a family day will be held on Saturday, April 25, at Potterhamworth Village Hall. This event will feature a variety of stalls and demonstrations, along with live music, a bar, and a barbecue, offering fun for all ages and a final push to gather donations.

Through these activities, Lincolnshire Young Farmers aim to not only raise funds but also strengthen community bonds and promote the vital work of the air ambulance and youth farming initiatives.
