Jonny Stewart, a 30-year-old maths teacher at Malvern College, has successfully completed the Gower Peninsula Ultra Challenge, a gruelling 100km continuous endurance event along one of Wales' most dramatic coastlines. The challenge was undertaken in honour of his mother, Judith, and to raise vital awareness and funds for Myeloma UK.
Inspired by His Mother's Battle
Judith was diagnosed with myeloma, a rare and incurable blood cancer, early last year. While treatment cannot cure the disease, it can provide periods of remission. Judith has been undergoing regular treatment for the past year, facing it with quiet, determined resilience. Jonny said: "My mother has been amazing throughout her treatment, and I wanted to do something that reflects her strength. Supporting Myeloma UK means a huge amount to our family."
Months of Preparation
The Gower Peninsula Ultra was the culmination of months of intense training. To build towards the event, Jonny set himself four major endurance challenges rooted in his school and local community. These included a four-hour stair-climbing time trial inside his boarding house at Malvern College, during which he scaled 552 floors and more than 1,900 metres of elevation.
Fundraising Success

Ultra Challenge Events
