Queenscourt Hospice is set to host a significant community celebration in honour of International Women's Day 2026, returning to the prestigious venue of The Grand in Southport.
A Celebration of Strength and Generosity
For the team at Queenscourt Hospice, International Women's Day represents far more than a calendar date. It is a dedicated moment for the community to pause, unite, and reflect on the immense strength, generosity, and determination shown by the women who shape local life every day. The event will take place on Friday, March 6, 2026.
This year's global theme, 'Give to Gain', resonates deeply with the hospice's ethos. It explores the power of generosity in all its forms—be it time, knowledge, support, visibility, or opportunity—and the positive ripple effect such acts create. The core belief is that when we give intentionally, we do not lose; we multiply value and create wider benefits for all.
Inspiring Speakers and Meaningful Conversation
The popular lunchtime gathering will feature a panel of compelling speakers, each offering unique insights into leadership, collaboration, and community building. Confirmed speakers include Jordan Duggan, Group Director at EFT Group, and Andrew Brown, Founder of Stand Up For Southport, both recognised as passionate advocates for positive change and inclusive growth. A third speaker will be announced in the coming weeks.
Liz Hartley, fundraising manager at Queenscourt Hospice, said: "Following last year's success, we are thrilled to bring people together again for an inclusive, uplifting celebration rooted in community. The 'Give to Gain' theme mirrors the generosity we witness daily at Queenscourt, and we hope this event sparks meaningful dialogue and lasting connections."
The event is designed to foster as much conversation as listening, providing a valuable opportunity to network with like-minded individuals, exchange ideas, and leave feeling energised and inspired to 'give' in ways that create tangible, lasting impact.
Supporting Vital Local Care
Tickets for the event are now on sale, priced at £50 per person or £500 for a table of 10. This makes it an ideal occasion to attend with colleagues, friends, or clients. Each ticket includes a welcome drink, a two-course meal, and entertainment.
Critically, every ticket purchased directly supports the essential, specialist care provided by Queenscourt Hospice to patients and their families across West Lancashire, Formby, and Southport.
