St Catherine's Club Panto Generates £3,600 for Moya Cole Hospice

The St Catherine's Club Didsbury pantomime 'Cinderella 2: The Sequel' has successfully raised an impressive £3,600 for Moya Cole Hospice. This production, staged in January, not only provided entertainment but also commemorated a significant milestone: the 40th anniversary of the St Catherine's Club pantomime tradition.

Four Decades of Charitable Impact

Over its long history, the St Catherine's Club Didsbury panto has accumulated approximately £200,000 in donations for various charities. Notable beneficiaries include Francis House Children's Hospice and, of course, Moya Cole Hospice. This consistent fundraising effort highlights the group's enduring commitment to supporting vital community services.

Cast and Crew Reflect on the Experience

Mark McDowell, representing the St Catherine's Club Didsbury Panto, shared heartfelt insights into the production's deeper purpose. "I think I speak on behalf of all of the cast and crew when I say that there's a lot of fun and laughter being had during 'Panto Season' but the real reward is in knowing what effect it has on the people we are helping," he stated.

McDowell further emphasized the inspirational work of the hospice staff, adding, "Added to that, it's very humbling to visit Moya Cole and witness the genuine hard work that the staff and volunteers do there, day in day out, to make a real difference to people's lives. They're the real stars - Oh yes they are!"

Official Presentation at the Hospice

Following the successful run of the pantomime, a formal presentation ceremony was held at Moya Cole Hospice in Heald Green. Members of the St Catherine's Club Didsbury's Panto team personally presented a cheque to the hospice, symbolizing the tangible results of their efforts.

Hospice's Gratitude and Community Spirit

George Bartram, Community Fundraiser for Moya Cole Hospice, expressed profound appreciation for the ongoing support. "It is incredible to see the community come together for the St Catherine's Club panto for over 40 years," he remarked. "They have raised an incredible £3,600 for Moya Cole Hospice through their panto this year, which will be going towards ongoing care. We cannot thank them enough for their generosity."
