Students Raise £2k for Great Ormond Street Hospital

Creative students and staff at Cheshire College - South & West have raised £2,026.54 for Great Ormond Street Hospital through a year-long series of student-led fundraising activities. The Performing Arts and Production Arts department dedicated the entire academic year to imaginative events, driven by the students' desire to support young patients and their families.

Student-Led Fundraising Events

The total was raised through ticket sales from the department's Christmas production of Peter Pan, alongside a programme of events including tombola stalls, music bingo, face painting, and bake sales. Students volunteered their own time to organise and deliver these events, demonstrating creativity, teamwork, and a strong commitment to the charity.

Supporting Seriously Ill Children

The funds will support Great Ormond Street Hospital's work caring for seriously ill children and helping families access specialist treatment and support. The charity was chosen by the students themselves, who wanted to support an organisation making a difference to the lives of children and families.

Raising over £2,000 is a fantastic achievement and reflects the compassion, creativity and commitment they show every day.”

Student Confidence and Growth

Course leader and lecturer Natasha Hudson shared her pride in the department: “This has been completely student-driven, from planning the events through to delivering them alongside their performances. It's been fantastic to see their confidence grow over the year, and even more rewarding to see those efforts make a real difference.”
