Surrey Households Eligible for £300 Supermarket Vouchers Through DWP Fund
Households in Surrey are being offered £300 supermarket vouchers to help cover essential costs, thanks to funding from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) Household Support Fund. This initiative aims to provide critical financial support to families struggling with everyday expenses during challenging economic times.
Funding Details and Eligibility Criteria
The seventh round of the Household Support Funding was announced, running from 1 April 2025 to 31 March 2026. Surrey has been allocated £9.3 million for this period, although this represents a 12% reduction compared to previous funding rounds. The local authority emphasizes that the funding is specifically designed to assist families in financial crisis within the county.
To qualify for the Everyday Essentials E-voucher, applicants must meet strict eligibility requirements. Households need to have savings of £2,000 or less on average over a 90-day period and an annual household income below £27,007.50 before taxes and deductions. Only one voucher will be issued per household, ensuring fair distribution of resources.
Application Process and Supermarket Partners
Applications for the voucher scheme opened on 1 October 2025 and will remain available on a monthly basis until 31 March 2026, or until funding is exhausted. Applicants who are unsuccessful due to not meeting criteria, missing deadlines, or failing to provide required documentation may reapply once, but further applications will be automatically rejected.
The vouchers can be redeemed at nine participating supermarkets, providing flexibility for recipients to shop where convenient. The full list includes:
- Farmfoods
- Aldi
- Asda
- Morrisons
- Sainsbury's
- Tesco
- The Food Warehouse
- Iceland
- Waitrose
This comprehensive selection ensures that beneficiaries can access a wide range of essential goods, from food and fuel to water and other daily necessities. The program is administered through local organizations in Surrey that identify and support families in financial distress, making the assistance both targeted and effective.
